Letter of Intent

Well...
As with most people's blogs, this one was created, mostly on the spur of the moment, and then mostly forgotten. I even have a half-finished draft of a post that cuts off mid-sentence.


So, recently, due to a ridiculously volatile schedule, I have no semblance whatsoever of a sleeping pattern. Mostly, that means that when I want to go to bed early, I can't sleep, and end up staying up for hours on end looking at pointless things on the internet. Tonight, as I gave up surfing the web and attempted to sleep, I had a thought. the line of thought went something like this:

Ah, bed.
It's dark.
Wait, no it's not. My eyes are adjusting to the low light.
Dang it. Now that it's not dark I probably won't fall asleep.
Maybe if I don't move...
...
Nope. Still awake.
I have to be up in 4 HOURS! Why can't I sleep?
Maybe I have insomnia.
One time, I heard someone say that a lot of geniuses were insomniacs, and during the night is when they produced much of their work.
I'm not a genius, but I bet I could actually do something productive with the time I'm not sleeping.
Maybe not productive , but at least it wouldn't be time completely wasted if I just created something.
Music?
Nope, too loud for people sleeping. Maybe when I'm by myself.
Writing?
Sure...I had that blog...
Of course, if I do this now, I will probably only write a single post and then forget about the endeavor.
Whatever, I'm just going to go to sleep.
...
I can't sleep.
Fine. I'll write.

So. I just had mentioned to my girlfriend a couple days ago that I thought it would be fun to keep a blog. The main hurdle I had to overcome was a lack of content. I don't just want to write about my daily happenings (this post is something towards that kind of content), and if I do go that route, I'd like to have some sort of introspective aspect to it. Anyway, seeing as how this is an idea that I just decided to go for literally (I'm using this word correctly) 20-30 minutes ago, I haven't figured out how to jump that hurdle. Maybe I'll just look at my various newsfeeds and write about things that tickle my fancy. For the record, "newsfeeds" sets off the spellchecker. "Spellchecker" does not.


I know almost nothing about web design or HTML coding, so maybe that will be an interesting bonus if I do keep this up.


Anyway. You can think of this post as a "letter of intent" for the posts to follow.
